Nyko Dualies - Full Update Guide
Let's Get Your Dualies Connected!
If your Dualies controllers are having trouble syncing up or connecting directly to your Nintendo Switch console, a quick firmware update usually resolves the issue.
Why is this process necessary? Whenever Nintendo rolls out a major system update for the Switch console, it changes how wireless devices talk to the hardware. Because third-party gear doesn't change automatically over the air, a quick manual update ensures your controllers stay compatible. It's a small, occasional trade-off that allows us to deliver high-quality, fully featured hardware at a fraction of the cost of original first-party controllers.
1. The Cable
Use the included USB-C cable or a high-quality data-transfer cable. Charging-only cables won't allow communication.
2. The Tool
Download the official firmware update utility from the bottom of the Nyko Dualies product page.
3. PC Settings
Open the app first. Right-click the file and choose "Run as Administrator" so the tool isn't blocked by Windows.
- Black Dualies (Left Controller): Press and hold the Minus (-) button.
- Black Dualies (Right Controller): Press and hold the Plus (+) button.
- Colored Dualies (All variations): Press and hold down the Left Thumbstick (click it straight down).
Still Having Trouble?
- The Sync Button Alternative: If the primary sequence fails, try holding down the small round sync button on the back of the controller while plugging it into the cable to force update mode.
- Compatibility Note: Please note that the original black version of the Nyko Dualies is not compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 console.
