Keep the exterior of the Nintendo Switch™ and Joy-Con™ controllers protected with Nyko's Thin Case. Thin Case goes over the Joy-Cons and Nintendo Switch console to form a protective layer and does not obstruct any buttons, ports or the screen. The included tempered glass screen protector will help guard against damage to the screen. Adding a very minimal increase in size, Thin Case can be left attached when docking the Nintendo Switch. The Joy-Cons can be removed from the console without needing to take off Thin Case.

I've used this case since I got my switch in 2017. I'm rough on my electronics, and I've dropped it many times over the last 9 years. It's survived being flung into various work and travel bags without any extra protection that whole time. Only in the past year has it started failing enough to consider a replacement.
The failure point is the tabs holding the front and back of the case together--there are 4 on top and 6 on the bottom. I'm down to 2 tabs after 9 years of heavy, relatively careless use, and only now is the case having trouble holding together round the switch.
I considered trying a cuter or more fancy case design from a different company, but this the only case I can find that provides protection for the front of the switch, the spaces between the screen and the joycons. Every other case I've seen is just a solid piece that wraps around the back of the switch--this one, with its front and back plates, is the only hard case I've seen that provides protection to the front of the switch's body.
The included screen protector has also stood the test of time, despite being loose in my work bag, with 2 scratches a centimeter in length which doesn't discolor the screen at all.
Additionally, I really love the space the case leaves at the back for the vents and the kickstand. A lot of other cases I've seen don't actually do that, and I run my switch for long sessions, so it's a necessary feature for me. It fits perfectly in the dock and I've never noticed any difference in heat retention compared to my roommate's uncased switch.
The colors of this case have also not faded much at all. The red and blue are just about as vibrant as when I bought it 9 years ago.
The joycon protectors are also nice, but are not the main draw of this case for me.
My only note is that I wish these cases came in more colors.
This is the only case that actually feels like it's protecting my switch while also fitting in the dock, and it's lasted almost 10 years.
Obviously I am buying another one. I'm so glad these are still available.
