No, the Data Bank for PlayStation®4 does not come with a 3.5" hard drive.
With the 3.50 firmware update for PS4™ we recommend up to 4TB for models below CUH-1200 and for models above CUH-1200, we recommend up to 8TB. Using a higher capacity drive could cause rest mode to not function properly and could potentially cause other issues.
**Note: You must be running PlayStation®4 firmware 3.50 or higher to use above mentioned hard drive sizes.
Check that you are using the correct file for the PlayStation®4 firmware. You can get the file from the PlayStation® website. Once you have the correct file, make sure you create a folder on a USB flash drive named “PS4” and then created a folder inside that folder named “UPDATE”. Make sure to capitalize both “PS4” and “UPDATE” when making the folders. Once the folder is created, place the firmware file in the “UPDATE” folder and plug the USB drive in the PlayStation®4, then run the initialization.
We recommend using a SATA 3 3.5” hard drive from a reputable brand.
Yes, both the Intercooler and Data Bank can be used simultaneously on the PlayStation®4.

**Please note we do not recommend using the backup and restore feature and instead to only transfer your data manually by using a USB flash drive.

The Universal Catrdige is a SATA cartridge designed to allow capatibility of the Data Bank with the current and previous models of the PlayStation®4.
You might have a CUH-1200 or above model PlayStation®4. This will require the Universal Cartridge to install the Data Bank. If you purchase a Data Bank and did not receive a Universal Cartridge and have a CUH-1200 or above model PlayStation®4, our customer support team will be able to provide you one. Our support team can be contacted here.
First, check to make sure the Data Bank is installed correctly. Once you have verified it is, make sure the hard drive is installed properly in the Data Bank. You should feel it getting snug when pushing the hard drive in. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact our support team here.
